We don’t write or influence any of the reviews listed here. They reflect the experiences of people who have used Plan7Architect in real projects.

Trusted Shops Ratings

Plan7Architect is listed on Trusted Shops, one of Europe’s most established review platforms for verified software purchases. The reviews are collected directly from real users after purchase.

Plan7Architect is also available on Amazon in selected regions. Customers who purchased the software there have also left reviews and feedback.

These reviews were written by real customers. We cannot modify or influence them in any way.

Website review of Plan7Architect home design software

Note on Amazon Links:

We no longer actively sell physical DVDs on Amazon in the UK or Canada.
Due to Brexit and new import/export regulations, it became increasingly difficult and costly to manage fulfillment for these regions.
For that reason, we now offer the software exclusively as a digital download, which is simpler for both us and our customers.

Plan7Architect is still available as a DVD on Amazon Germany, but in all other countries, we recommend the direct download from our official website.

Even though the product pages on Amazon UK and Canada are no longer active, we’ve kept the links here so you can still read independent customer reviews:

They serve as an additional, unbiased source of feedback for anyone researching the software.

Reviews.io Ratings

We only recently signed up with Reviews.io which is why there are still just a few reviews. This will change soon, as we are actively sending invitations to our customers.

Great for contractors

I run a small construction business near Dallas, and Plan7Architect has been a great tool for pre-bid concepts. I can sketch out decks, garages, or home additions fast and export PDFs for clients. The 3D render helps sell ideas — people love seeing their projects before we build. Way cheaper than other pro software.

Easy for homeowners

I’m a total beginner, but this program made me feel like a pro. I planned my kitchen remodel and patio extension in one weekend. Switching between 2D and 3D is addictive — I could see exactly how the sunlight would fall through my new windows. It’s simple, clear, and doesn’t need an architect degree.

Ideal for professionals

As a licensed contractor in San Diego, I was impressed how well Plan7Architect handles residential layouts. I designed a small ADU and exported scaled drawings for city review. The program runs smoothly, supports U.S. standards, and prints true-to-scale plans. Big thumbs up.

Faster than SketchUp

I’ve used SketchUp before, but Plan7Architect feels much faster for floor plans. Everything’s drag-and-drop. I created my entire apartment layout, including furniture, and exported a clean plan to send to my landlord. I’m genuinely surprised how polished it feels for the price.

Perfect for new builds

We’re building a retirement home in Sedona and wanted to visualize everything ourselves. Plan7Architect lets us move walls, test roof shapes, and even simulate the sun at different times of day. The export to PDF worked perfectly for our local builder. Simple, fast, and very visual.

Great Software

I like it a lot and it is a lot of fun to draft your designs. Get quick 3d views after you are done with the 2d work. I really like the 3d views when you apply shadow renderings, it looks great. Five stars for that.
It also works great when you want to design professionally. I find the Pro edition very easy to use and does great for novices and professionals alike. Also great for homeowners who are thinking about designing their dream homes or to have fun with to draft your designs or ideas.

As a contractor in Vancouver I needed fast concept plans for clients. Plan7Architect gives me clear PDFs and DWGs I can hand off to engineers. It’s not full structural software (we still have our engineer sign off), but for client presentations and quick revisions it’s been invaluable.

Common Feedback Points and What We Have Improved

Most reviews about Plan7Architect are positive. Many customers describe the software as powerful, useful and easy to work with after a short learning phase.

At the same time, we take critical feedback seriously. Some feedback has helped us improve the software, the installation process, the tutorials and the way we support new users. Below are some common claims that sometimes appear in critical reviews — and our response.

Claim: “The software is not intuitive.”

Our response:
Plan7Architect is real home design software, not a simple game-style app. It includes tools for floor plans, walls, doors, windows, roofs, 2D/3D planning, terrain and planning documents.

Most users understand the basic workflow after watching the First Steps tutorial, which takes about 40–50 minutes. Problems usually happen when users skip the tutorials completely and expect to finish a full house plan within a few minutes.

The First Steps tutorial is publicly available before purchase, so customers can see the actual workflow and decide whether Plan7Architect is the right fit for them.

Claim: “The tutorials are hard to follow.”

Our response:
We took this feedback seriously and improved many of our tutorial videos.

In the past, some videos were recorded on large screens, which made it harder to follow the mouse movement on smaller laptops or tablets. Some users also found the older voiceover less comfortable to listen to.

Because of this, our support and tutorial team created many new videos and updated older tutorials with clearer recordings, better mouse visibility and improved voiceovers.

Claim: “There are no tutorials.”

Our response:
Tutorials are available on our website, in the customer area and on our YouTube channel.

We provide tutorial videos in several places: directly on our website, on important product and landing pages, in the top navigation, in the customer area and through a visible YouTube button at the bottom of the website.

Even though these tutorials are available and linked in multiple places, we still occasionally receive reviews from users saying that there are no tutorials. We cannot fully explain this, except that some users may skip the website information, onboarding emails, navigation links and help sections, or may not be very experienced with finding online support resources.

Because of this, we are continuing to make the tutorials even more visible and easier to access. But the tutorials do exist, they are publicly available, and they are an important part of getting started with Plan7Architect.

Support and Refund Option

If customers get stuck, they can contact our support team through the customer account. Screenshots and project files help us understand the issue and provide a more precise answer.

And if a customer realizes that Plan7Architect is not the right software for their needs, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Our goal is to be transparent, improve continuously and help customers understand whether Plan7Architect is the right tool for their project.
