Installation & Activation Troubleshooting – Plan7Architect

If you experience problems with downloading, installing, or activating the Plan7Architect software, please carefully read this guide before contacting support.
Most installation issues are caused by skipped steps or not following the official installation guide provided in your order confirmation email.

1.  You Didn’t Wait Until the Download Finished

Problem: The ZIP file won’t open or gives an error message.
Cause: You clicked the ZIP file before the download was completely finished.
Solution:

  • Wait until the download is 100% complete.

  • The file size should match what’s shown in the download email (usually several GB).

  • Only then open the ZIP file.

2.  You Opened the Setup Directly Inside the ZIP File

Problem: You receive errors such as “Cannot read source file” or “Missing files”.
Cause: The setup file was started directly from the ZIP archive.
Solution:

  • Right-click the ZIP file → “Extract All…”

  • Choose a location on your PC (for example: Desktop).

  • Open the extracted folder and start the setup from there, not from inside the ZIP.

3.  You Did Not Run the Setup as Administrator

Problem: Installation errors, missing permissions, or failed setup.
Cause: The installer needs administrator rights.
Solution:

  • Right-click setup.exe → “Run as administrator”.

  • Confirm when Windows asks for permission.

  • Continue with the installation as described in the guide.

4.  Missing DLL File or Windows Error Message

Problem: Error messages mentioning missing DLLs (e.g. MSVCP140.dll, VCRUNTIME140.dll, etc.).
Cause: These are Microsoft system files missing from your Windows installation – not a Plan7Architect issue.
Solution:

  • Copy the exact DLL name from the error message.

  • Search on Google for it

  • Follow Microsoft’s official instructions to install the missing file or Visual C++ Redistributable Package.

  • Restart your PC afterward.

5.  Wrong License Code Entered

Problem: License not accepted or “Invalid code” message.
Cause: The code was typed manually and contains mistakes (for example: confusing O with 0, l with 1, etc.).
Solution:

  • Always copy & paste the license code directly from your email.

  • Make sure no extra spaces are copied before or after the code.

6.  License Code Entered but Not Activated

Problem: The code was entered correctly, but the program doesn’t activate.
Cause: The activation button wasn’t clicked after entering the code.
Solution:

  • Paste your license code into the field.

  • Click “Activate license” at the bottom right of the activation window.

  • Wait until the confirmation message appears.

7.  Didn’t Receive the Download or License Email

Problem: You can’t find the installation email.
Cause: Your email provider moved it to the spam/junk folder.
Solution:

  • Check your Spam, Promotions, and Junk folders.

  • Search for the subject line: “Your Plan7Architect download and license”.

  • If you still can’t find it, contact us with your order number.

8.  The Program Won’t Start After Installation

Problem: The software doesn’t open when you double-click it.
Possible causes & solutions:

  • Restart your PC and try again.

  • Temporarily disable your antivirus – some overprotective tools block new programs.

  • Make sure you installed it as administrator.

  • If you still see an error message, copy the exact message and send it to us.

9.  “Installation failed” or “The installation does not work”

Problem: You write “installation doesn’t work” without further details.
Solution:
To help you, we need the exact point where it fails and the exact error message.
Please don’t just write “it doesn’t work” – we can only help if we know what you see on your screen.
